Tropical Golf Club was
founded in May 1999 as an alternative to all golfers in Puerto
Rico. The Puerto Rico Golf Association (PRGA) approved us as a
non Real Estate Golf Club.
We have established our purpose the following way:
- To stimulate interest in
golf among FAMILIES & FRIENDS by bringing together a group
of golfers desirous of forming a golfing organization.
- To promote and foster among
the members a closer bond and fraternity for their joint and
mutual benefit, and to promote and conserve the best
interests and true spirit of the game of golf as embodied in
its ancient and honorable tradition.
- To encourage conformance to
the USGA Rules of Golf by creating a representative
authority.
- To maintain a uniform system
of handicapping as set forth in the USGA Handicap System and
issue USGA Handicap Indexes to the members.
- To provide an authoritative body
to govern and conduct club competitions.

Our first tournament was held at Dorado Del Mar Golf Club
November 1999, with 24 out of 52 members at that time.
We do several tournaments, the players participate in our Tour
monthly, in different golf courses through out the island. The
format is a individual stroke play and is divided in different
categories depending on the ability of the player. We apply all
the USGA rules and our participants enjoy and complete for the
grand prize, first place of their flight.
We love the game and we want everyone to do the same.
